7 Easy Ways to Get more H20

Chasing kids around the playground? Rockin’ a workout? Studying for exams? Racing to meetings? No matter what your day brings, you need water to fuel these activities!

With our active lives, sometimes it’s hard to stay hydrated throughout the day. We get it. So we’ve rounded up seven quick-and-easy ways to add more H2O to your daily routine:

1. Drink a glass of water first thing every morning. Wake up on the wrong side of the bed? Grabbing a glass of water is a great way to get you back on the right track. And who doesn’t want that?

2. Make that to-go. Whether you spend time in an office, at school, or running errands, it’s prime water-drinking time! Keep a large water bottle filled up and sip it all day long. Make up your mind that when it gets below a certain point, you’re much more likely to get up and refill it.

3. Get a fluid companion. Keep a reusable water bottle in your car, gym bag and at work so you’ve always got H2O on hand. S’well bottles will keep your water cold for 24 hours without getting everything in your bag wet from condensation. These Vapur Bottles can be flattened and folded up when empty, making it easy and convenient for water on the go. Or throw a case of CannedWater4Kids waters into your car or desk and have delicious purified spring water available when you need it!

4. Jazz it up. Plain ‘ol water not your thing? Treat your taste buds to delicious flavored water. Slice fresh cucumbers, ginger, limes, lemons, or fresh strawberries and toss ‘em into your water for added flavor. Need some inspiration? Give these Very Berry and Zesty Citrus water recipes a try! Or, if you don’t have the time, let Hint Water do the work for you. Even better? freeze fruit and use it in place of ice cubes.

5. Eat your water. Drinking H2O isn’t the only way to increase water intake. Add water-rich fruits and vegetables to your diet, such as watermelon (it’s 92 percent water by weight and blended up with some ice makes a tasty snack). Also try munching on more celery and tomatoes (about 95 percent and 85 percent, respectively), green peppers (94 percent), spinach (91 percent), cantaloupe (90 percent) and broccoli (91 percent). Add that to zucchinis, eggplant, oranges and strawberries, among others, and you’ll be hydrated and healthy all day long!

6. Drink before meals. Try drinking plenty of water between or before meals, not just while you eat. One simple way to increase water intake is to create this healthy habit: drink a full glass of water before every meal and at least half of a glass with every snack. This is an easy reminder to stop and hydrate.

7. Sip, baby sip. You’d be surprised how much water you’ll drink when you use a straw. Keep a box of straws or a water bottle with a built-in straw on your desk at work so you can easily sip throughout the day. Curly, colorful straws can also make drinking water more fun for kids!
