Six Things That Make Us Smile

Ever notice that when life gets tough, sometimes a smile can make all the difference? The impact a simple smile can have on overall health and happiness is pretty amazing. Research suggests that smiling can positively affect your mood and overall stress level, not to mention the impact it can have on those around you. In honor of National Smile Week, we wanted to share a few things that are making us grin over here at PHA:

Gear for Good. Nothing gets rid of buyer’s remorse quite like purchases made with a cause in mind. Reebok just launched a kid-specific line of footwear known as the BOKS Collection. For every pair sold, $3 will go back to BOKS, a before-school physical activity program designed to get kids up and moving before the school day even begins. Check out the new kicks here.

Sweet S’well Swag. S’well recently released a new Drink Up-branded bottle, and this week we’re giving one away to a lucky winner. All you have to do to enter is follow @URH2O on Twitter or Instagram, post an image of one of your favorite water-fueled moments and tag #H2OfCourse. For full rules, click here.

Big Bird Is Going To The Emmys. Earlier this year, Billy Eichner – host of Funny or Die’s Billy on the Street – teamed up with the Produce Marketing Association (PMA) to host a star-studded, fruit and veggie-focused episode featuring First Lady Michelle Obama, Big Bird and Elena. Needless to say, the video went viral and earned itself an Emmy nomination. Can’t wait to see Big Bird in a Tux!

Workout Wisdom. These 5 creative ways to workout this summer still have us beaming … must be all the endorphins.

Budget Bites. If you’re in need of cheap, delicious and healthier recipes, the free online cookbook Good and Cheap by Leanne Brown is for you. Last summer the first edition was released, and just a few weeks ago an updated version came out with 30 new recipes. The whole idea behind this cookbook is to provide flexible recipes that fit the budgets of individuals and families living on SNAP.
