Recipe: Egg in a Basket

Add a couple of thin slices of avocado to start your day with some healthy fat or top it off with some cracked black pepper or hot sauce for an extra kick. A cup of fruit rounds the meal off nicely and balances out the savory with a little sweet.

Ingredients:

Directions:

  1. Using a cookie cutter or drinking glass, cut a hole in the bread. Set this hole aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a nonstick frying pan over medium heat.
  3. Place the bread into the pan, crack the egg and drop it into the hole. Top with a dash of garlic powder, if desired.
  4. Fry the egg until it is fairly well set, the flip and toast the other side.
  5. Toast the hole and use it for dipping into the yolk!
