Recipe: Overnight Oatmeal

A big pot of steel cut oatmeal made in a slow cooker is the perfect solution to making sure you have a healthy start to the day. It’s great for when you need a simple, hearty breakfast in a flash, which is why we simply love this Overnight Oatmeal recipe from Alton Brown for The Food Network.

Before heading to bed, fill your slow cooker with steel cut oats, water, half-and-half, Ocean Spray Craisins® Original Dried Cranberries and some dried figs, and you will wake up to a delicious hot meal ready to go first thing in the AM.

Pro Tip: The longer you cook, the softer the texture. Cook six to seven hours for firmer oats.

Directions:

In a slow cooker, combine all ingredients and set to low heat. Cover and let cook for 8 to 9 hours.

Stir and remove to serving bowls. This method works best if started before you go to bed. This way your oatmeal will be finished by morning.
