No need to hold the mayo here! As the CEO and founder of Hampton Creek, Josh Tetrick is the man behind Just Mayo– and a man who’s on a mission to make it easier for everyone to eat better.

  1. If you were stranded on a deserted island, and only one vegetable grew on that island, what vegetable would you want it to be? I’m not such a fan of vegetables but if I were to choose one, I’d go with carrots. They’re crunchy and, more importantly, with its high level of vitamin A I’d be able to have good eyesight in order to escape the lions living on the island.
  1. What is your healthiest habit? Now that’s an area I can do much better in. Probably the best thing I do for my health is taking my dog Jake out for walks. Hopefully I’ll do enough dog walks to cancel out the bad food I eat during football season.
  1. What is your go-to nutritious breakfast? Nothing fancy – just a plain bagel and sometimes cereal. And coffee. Always a coffee. I’m taking a step in the right direction by including a banana too. Baby steps, I know.
  1. What are the 3 items that are always in your fridge/pantry? I could eat noodles all day long. I also always have hot sauce and, of course, a jar of Just Mayo. Did I mention Just Mayo goes well on everything? Ha!
  1. What is your favorite workout? I like lifting weights though it’s hard for me mentally knowing that my once tiny baby brother can now lift much more than I can. In my defense, he’s grown to 6’5″ and 220lbs of pure muscle. He still thinks I can beat him up, though.
  1. Who is your fitness hero? My mom. (I wrote that to make her day – it’s really Lebron James.)
  1. How do you take your water – sparkling, flat, over ice, or another way? I’m easy – just from the sink and I’m good to go.
  1. What is your guilty pleasure? Chocolate. And the edible cookie dough at work.
  1. What is your healthy eating philosophy? Everything in moderation.
  1. What is your go-to nutritious family dinner dish? I’ve learned to make a mean bean burrito. I don’t know where I got the recipe, but I can eat it three days in a row and not get tired.
  1. What is the best health advice you’ve ever received? Move around. I read that sitting down all day is one of the worst things you can do. So I make a conscious effort to move around all day – I don’t even have a desk. It does make carrying a computer around and typing at the same time difficult so if you ever get an email from me with a typo, that’s why!
