On Friday, March 27, we wrapped up our fourth annual Building a Healthier Future Summit, where we were surrounded by celebrities, leaders, athletes and CEOs. Of course, we had to wonder, what’s their advice for keeping kids happy and healthy? Check out some of what we heard during the final day of the Summit:

FOX NFL and Sports Reporter Pam Oliver: “Active kids do better! They do better in school. They do better in everything else they’re doing!”

World Cup and Olympic Champion Brandi Chastain: “Be sensitive. Be kind. Be supportive. Be tough. And don’t take ‘no’ as an answer – there’s always a way to get there.”

U.S. Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ): “I like the old African saying – if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.”

Campbell Soup Company CEO Denise Morrison: “Enjoy healthy foods. My granddaughter – she loves eating things like plums and kale.”

Mercedes-Benz USA CEO Stephen Cannon: “Sports are key to developing leadership skills.”

NIKE Global Community Impact Chief Operating Officer Jorge Casimiro: “If you don’t know physical activity, you won’t be healthy. Start that love affair.”

Goya Foods Food Scientist and Nutritionist MeriTerese Racanelli: “Embrace cultural diversity in cooking. Food is not one size fits all.”

President’s Council on Fitness, Sports & Nutrition Member Lt. Gen. Mark Hertling: “Have fun. Don’t make being healthy hard. Just have fun.”

James Beard Foundation President Susan Ungaro: “Get involved in the kitchen! Cooking should be required homework.”
